Crowd sourcing for filmmakers

Crowd sourcing is a 2-Way Street, in building a stronger more involved community, and fan base. A great way to do this, ask your fans/followers for their input. This will builds their commitment, and involvement in your success, plus you'll get to take advantage of their feed back, helping you market yourself more efficiently.

One of the places filmmakers are finding very affective for crowd sourcing is Twitter. I talked to a filmmaker just the other day, thats using Twitter almost exclusively for marketing his films, and get feed back on his projects. In my opinion filmmakers shouldn't be spending any money on a website, and marketing their films. Filmmakers should be marketing themselves, using social media and crowed sourcing.

Really what Fans Of Film is offering, is the perfect situation as a free home base, to network, and crowd source from. I say this because Fans Of Film is part of the Ning film community of networks popping up all over the world, and with your single Ning ID you can pop in and out of hundreds of communities that you sign up to. Think of the growd sourcing possibilities, and all this is free. So I ask you why bother with a website? Just come to Fans Of Film set up a wicked profile, bio, load your trailers, and provide a download, and on-demand PPV video link, and start crowd sourcing tell the cows come home.
