Green Seal Of Approval For Digital Distribution

FOR RELEASE!
By Michael Palombo

Making a dream a reality, beyond the life changing experience of stepping into the film industry in 2007, it's truly been a roller coaster of a ride. Lets go beyond being a 20 year artist and trying to understand the medium of film making for myself as an aspiring filmmaker/producer working on my own productions/art.

Distribution! better yet green distribution, as we move into age of real concern for our environment, and our impact on this great planet we call home. I'm proud to release the
"Green Seal Of Approval For Digital Distribution" A contract will go with this seal asking for the true value of DVD's to be enforced including environmental impact "yet to be valued" and the main form of digital distribution being in the form of downloads and on-demand video. I started a green distribution campaign August 2008 with setting up a blog filmmakersgogreen.blogspot.com and soon after posting my idea on the very popular ideablob.com website. So this is not a new thing, it's something thats been in the works for over a year. We also have a production idea on the board for a documentary on "The Life Of A DVD" for those filmmakers, producers, and writers that might read this, it needs funding and script

Over the last year I have committed all my spare time and late nights to understanding yet another medium. The computer world and how it's being used for marketing and distribution. At the same time developing a network and distribution model, with the launch of "Fans Of Film" in November of 2008, With the experience of facilitating and networking thefilmmakerschannel.com and the martialarts-channel.com. I've come to understand a great deal about the future of the web, and the opportunities it's opening up for independent filmmakers and producers. As a result of all of this, the phone has started to ring with filmmakers, producers asking for consultation, pod casters asking for interviews. Today I'm going to be on a live show called "Blog Talk Radio"
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ ... So yes I think I'm headed in the right direction and making waves in a new age of independent production and distribution. I think it's going to be a great year, and I'm looking forward to working with all the people that shown interest and those to come. So join us on fansoffilm.com for a movement are better yet a revolution!

Experience The Quality That Fans And Distributors Are Talking About

Congratulation to Ning for supporting iframes, something that I've been waiting for, but just for a little while. Ning continues to move forward in better developing it's back end. Thank You Ning.

We are now displaying our official "Fans Of Film PPV Channel" on the front page, with a fr ee music video followed by a Maxcast commercial, our streaming service provider.

I know what your thinking a music video and a commercial that's nothing, and your right. But some of the biggest networks of today, started that way.

We are currently looking for and reviewing content for our home page channel. That will have a limited amount of the highest quality independent films and programs we can find, or bring to us. We are working on securing some great content with some great filmmakers/producers, so stay tuned for a great future for all of us.

We still have a growing film list for filmmakers to independently distribute from, using what ever services you provide for your DVD, download, and on-demand distribution services, and you don't need to provide all three, one is fine.

I believe with enough time and added value, and content to the network, that FOF will become a viable and truly independent film market unlike any other.

Sincerely

Michael/Fans Of Film

A new Model Of Distribution for filmmakers

By Michael Palombo
filmmakershelp.com helping filmmakers with online distribution

When I find articles like the one at the bottom of this post, I know I'm doing the right thing. My efforts for providing a new model of distribution started about a year ago, when I teamed up with a couple of other like minds in the film industry, thinking along the same lines.

Getting filmmakers to think the same has been a task that has taken all my efforts to keep alive, and connect with the filmmaker without any real connection to the upper crust of the film making world, and even having some connections here in New Mexico, and even speaking in front of a group of filmmakers. The response has been slow for filmmakers to adapt a new model of distribution that would put them first. To any filmmaker reading this, read the full article on Ted Hopes Views on indie filmmaking. And then come back to me for a new model that is going to put filmmakers first.

This morning, Saturday September 27th in Los Angeles, producer Ted Hope gave the keynote speech at Film Independent's Filmmaker Forum "There is no crisis," Hope proclaimed in his opening comments. How can there be a "Death Of Indie" when Indie -- real Indie, True Indie -- has yet to even live?" he asks. Creativity is not a victim of a distribution meltdown. Hope notes that the moment when the constraints of traditional models are changed for the collective good is now. His complete prepared remarks, as delivered to indieWIRE today, are included below.
